Project Manager

NTT DATA is looking for a Technical Project Manager to work remotely from Europe for a UN Agency.

The main responsibilities will be:

In this role you will manage projects delivering a business solution using one or more of their main technologies:

Project Planning and Scheduling:

• Develop a comprehensive project plan outlining tasks, timelines, and resource requirements.
• Create a project schedule and ensure adherence to deadlines.
• Update plans and schedules weekly on the central PMO register

Resource Management:

• Monitor resource utilization and make adjustments as needed.

Risk Management:

• Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Monitor and report on project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Update risks weekly on the central PMO register
• Escalate risks as required to the Solutions lead

Budget Management:

• Develop and manage the project budget, tracking expenses and ensuring cost control.
• Monitor the budget on a weekly basis

Stakeholder Communication:

• Establish effective communication channels with project stakeholders, including team members, clients, and senior management.
• Provide project status updates weekly on the PMO register and to Solutions lead or others as required.

Quality Assurance:

• Define and enforce project quality standards.
• Conduct regular quality checks and audits to ensure compliance.

Change Management:

• Embed change management activities in all project plans and inform the ICT Change Management team of the plans to ensure aligned planning of resources and timelines.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain detailed project documentation, including project plans, meeting minutes, and project reports.
• Prepare regular project status reports for management and stakeholders.

Team Leadership:

• Lead the technical project team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

Project Closure:

• Ensure all project objectives are met, and deliverables are completed to the satisfaction of the client.
• Conduct a post-project evaluation to capture lessons learned and make recommendations for future projects.
• Complete reporting on the PMO site, updating all relevant stakeholders.

The ideal candidate meets the following requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering).
• At least 6 years of proven experience as a Technical Project Manager
• Strong project management skills, including the use of project management software.
• Knowledge of any of their core technologies: Oracle Peoplesoft, Oracle data warehouse and Oracle Business Intelligence; Microsoft technologies: Microsoft Sharepoint, Microsoft Azure, Cognitive Services, ML and Microsoft Power BI; Liferay, Ruby-on-Rails.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Risk management and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Knowledge of industry best practices for project management
• Worked 100% of the time on project management currently or in their last role.
• Technical expertise to assist stakeholders within and outside the UN Agency.
• Fluent in English-language (both written and verbal) is required.
